Founded in 2014 by college roommates Sean De Clercq and Erik Straub, Kickfurther is disrupting the world of retail/ecommerce business financing. This crowd-financed model breaks away from traditional Factoring and PO-financing in a way that enables growing small to medium size consumer goods businesses to raise capital so they can produce inventory. Kickfurther is a Boomtown 2015 and 43North 2018 Alumni and is backed by investors including Tim Draper and Bill Tai. We have funded over $125MM for our clients since launch in 2015 and over $40MM in the last 12 months!

We’re looking to bring a strong leader on board to guide our growing Marketing team toward success! The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) would act as our internal expert on all marketing operations, and what it takes to reach and convince our audience that Kickfurther is as phenomenal a service as we know it is! You’d be working with our enthusiastic team of in-house marketers – including digital, email, and account-based marketing experts, content generators, a social media manager (and more!) to supplement and support you in your role. You’ll have access to all messaging, advertising, gifting, Sales tools and talents needed to increase Kickfurther’s exposure in all desired markets and drive lead generation to our qualified sales team.

Requirements

  • Establish the marketing department’s organizational structure, goals and objectives
  • Plan and organize marketing functions (content development, branding, communications etc.), and ensure they project the company’s unique voice
  • Contribute to the overall growth of the company in collaboration with sales and partnership departments
  • Review, manage and direct content marketing strategy
  • “Listen” to the trends of the market and direct the market research efforts of the company
  • Responsible for driving growth into the top of the funnel
  • Determine and track KPIs for the marketing department
  • Monitor and optimize the use of Kickfurther’s marketing budget
  • Work with sales, partnerships and customer success teams
  • Use data, KPIs and reports to make evidence-based decisions
  • Analyze, improve and innovate company’s marketing strategy
  • Create and maintain effective lead generation initiatives with help of marketing team
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and best marketing practices
  • Attend regular meetings with executive leadership and one-on-ones with your team
  • Orchestrate the design, plan and execution of effective marketing campaigns

Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years experience as a Chief Marketing Officer (required)
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing or related field (preferred)
  • B2B marketing and/or sales experience (required)
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as Hubspot and Salesforce
  • Experience in building out Marketing strategy and implementation to increase company exposure to target audiences and drive leads to sales department
  • Must understand the marketing to sales lead flow
  • Proven track record of contributing to company growth via marketing initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Data-driven and technologically savvy
  • Creative thinker who can produce out-of-the-box approaches to stand out among the crowd
  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple, high-priority projects
  • Experience managing to KPIs with budget accountability
