Description
CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) is an environmental management company under contract to the Department of Energy (DOE) whose mission is to decommission a former nuclear fuel reprocessing facility. CHBWV is located 35 miles south of Buffalo, New York, close to excellent ski resorts, boating, and fishing on Lakes Erie, Ontario and Chautauqua.
Job Summary:
Supports information systems by performing several administration level tasks which includes Information system (IS) Security, IS architectural planning and administration, new system integration, account administration, troubleshooting, patching, and other IS related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Exchange and SMTP gateway operations.
- Experience in VMWare version 7.
- Experience in Oracle version 19c.
Other Requirements:
- Must have fundamental knowledge of computer technology principles and practices and working knowledge in area of expertise. Must have mastery knowledge of industry network standards.
Must possess mastery knowledge of computer technology to successfully complete difficult assignments. Must possess familiarity and functional competency with standard computer programs, basic skills in oral and written communication and developed organizational skills. - Knowledge and experience with MS Windows Active Directory (AD) administration and Windows operating system patching.
- Knowledge of and understanding of network TCP/IP administration and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge and understanding of enterprise antivirus solutions, endpoint data protection, and encryption.
- Must be able to work independently under consultative direction, be technically competent to work on the most complex computer technology activities and recommend changes in systems and procedures. May act as lead person or technical expert to direct work of others, develop and implement special projects, develop procedures, and mentor others.
- Must be able to research and lead the resolution of complex technical issues. Problems at this level require the integration of ideas, concerns, and interests in more than one area. - Responsible for coordination of delivery, acceptance, and installation of PC hardware and software at designated locations.

Windows Administration:
- MS Windows Active Directory (AD) administration including troubleshooting and administration of user accounts, group policies, login scripts, etc.
- Deployment, installation, and maintenance of Windows OS (Windows 10, Windows Server)
Support IS Cyber Security Initiatives:
Works closely with the site’s key Information System Security personnel supporting the following duties:
- Windows Patching – Perform Windows operating system patching, and methodology for installing patches on several hardware platforms. Relied upon to support installation and deployment of new software releases, system upgrades, and critical patches.
- System baselining – Support the IS group with development, documentation of and ensuring systems stay within site developed baselines.
- Participate with Conduct of Operations and Incident Response activities.
- Develop, revise, and maintain the Cyber Security Program Policies, Procedures, and departmental technical instruction documents.
- Follow established departmental change control policies and procedures.
- Responds to external data calls and audits by gathering data; answering questions; preparing and submitting responses.
- Identifies security improvements by supporting internal system security assessments and evaluating trends.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly internal audits and self-assessments.
- Support compliance with site security posture (NIST 800-53 guidelines) by following guidelines and requirements; implementing security controls.
Device Management:
- Provide support with the distribution of updates and fixes to operating systems by utilizing Windows Server Update Services.
- Support of Windows Server Update Services and other third-party Patch Management tools.
- Perform software/application deployment using Windows AD and third-party solutions.
- Support and manage the organizations servers, desktops, laptops, and mobile equipment.
- Participate in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade the organization’s network.
Network:
- Perform general administrative activities on the network including granting rights to users, installing printers, and setting up print queues.
- Provide backup and data integrity of network applications and data.
- Design, develop, implement, and provide recommendations for new network applications and projects.
